NW Climate Science Center announces FY12 funded projects

The NW CSC geographic area includes terrestrial, freshwater, and nearshore marine ecosystems in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and western Montana

The Department of the Interior's Northwest Climate Science Center (NW CSC) coordinates the expertise of federal and university scientists to provide scientific information and tools necessary to address federal, state, and tribal resource managers' priorities relevant to climate change.

To facilitate the development of information and tools, the NW CSC supports research and science delivery that will increase the understanding of, and address changes in, climate and effects on natural systems (water, fish, wildlife, habitats) and issues of significance to human communities (cultural resources, health, economy, safety, etc.) in the Northwest.

For FY12, funding was allocated to 11 research projects and the annual Pacific Northwest Climate Science Conference.
