Meeting Time

The main GNLCC SC meeting begins at 12pm (noon) on September 24 (Monday) and ends at 3pm on Sept 25 (Tuesday). The meeting will be held in the conference room at Jackson Lake Lodge.

Travel

Flights are available into Jackson, WY (30 miles south of Jackson Lake Lodge). AllTrans provides shuttle service from the Jackson Hole Airport to Jackson Lake Lodge for $47.70 one way. Reservations are requested 24 hours in advance and can be made by calling 800-443-6133 or online at Alltrans. ** Note that each passenger must pay NPS entrance fee of $12 if they do not have pass. Other nearby airports include Idaho Falls, ID (1.5 hr drive) and Bozeman, MT (3.5 hr drive - carpooling available).

Lodging is available at Jackson Lake Lodge, Moran, WY, Grant Teton National Park. Government rate for rooms, $119, is available until August 9. Call 800-628-9988 and mention block for Great Northern LCC.

Events

MONDAY AFTERNOON MIXER: Executive members of the Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative plan to join the GNLCC meeting and have offered to host a later afternoon mixer on Monday Sept 24. Please RSVP to Yvette by email if you think you will attend.

MONDAY EVENING GROUP DINNER: We are looking into a group dinner on site or nearby for Monday evening. This will be set up as a group and pay on your own. Please RSVP to Yvette if you are interested in joining either tour option.

WEDNESDAY FWS MEETING: The US FWS has asked to present information on the the FWS effort 'Selecting Species for Design of Landscape Conservation'. An overview will be provided during the main meeting (along with presentations on landscape initiatives from other organizations). The FWS has asked the GNLCC Advisory Team and other partners in fish and wildlife management to participate in an in depth session with intent to get specific partner feedback on this proposed effort that will guide US FWS activities and priorities. We have specifically invited State and Tribal wildlife agencies but other wildlife partners are welcome as well. This meeting will follow a GNLCC Advisory Team meeting (Wednesday 8am-9am) beginning at 9am and ending at 12pm (noon). If you are interested in attending this session, please RSVP to Yvette by email. SITE VISITS AND TOURS: We are evaluating options and interest in tours. One option is for a Tuesday late afternoon tour of the USGS Spread Creek Fisheries/hydrology study site which is very close by. Another is for Wednesday afternoon. Options listed above. We will confirm this later after we determine interest. Please RSVP if you are interested in tours.
